![]() ![]() Some of the references seem to elude Japanese players, so I’m sure I’m missing a lot of them myself. The age of the references suggests this text was written by someone who grew up in the 1960s or 1970s. A lot of this information isn’t well-documented on Japanese sites, and it’s even harder to find info on it in English. Many of the extra endings feature references to old comedy routines, music, anime, and more.Due to a limited character font, some of the writing in the endings is presented unusually. ![]() His speech style is all over the place and is pretty silly. Sometimes he talks normally, and sometimes he talks like a kid. Most of the time he speaks in a very effeminate way, but sometimes he speaks in heavy dialects. From Ending #4 and on, the villain character starts to talk in very unusual Japanese. ![]() You can see all 35 endings below, but there are a few things to note first: For those not familiar with Zero Wing, the ending changes with each loop through the entire game.Īnyway, after learning this, I went and documented each Japanese ending, organized them into a table, and tried my hand at some simple translations. It turns out that not only is the screenshot 100% real, the Japanese version of Zero Wing has 35 endings! In contrast, the English version only has 3. I was all set to translate the line when I decided to do some double-checking to make sure that the screenshot was real and that the Japanese really did have another ending. Maybe the bad translations had something to do with laziness? Do you think you could do a article on it? Here is a screenshot of the ending Just in case. Apparently the Japanese version has 4 endings while the English only has 3! And more interesting the fourth ending is the only one with text. So I got a Japanese rom and looked at some of the endings. Hello, A little while ago I saw your article about Zero Wing. I say once again, it is one of the best sidescrolling shooters out there, and definitely merits a 5/5 easy.A while back, a reader named Dhillon521 submitted a question about Zero Wing’s ending text: Also, in the options, you can change the difficulty (standard is easiest, and even then it`s impossible >_<) and lives (Standard is 3, can be increased or decreased by one.) Also, after the three get collected or passed by, you can collect another one which is either A) A speed boost B) Destroy all enemies on screen C) A point boost. While flying, if you destroy a certain kind of ship, you get power-ups! After collecting the first one (always get the first one) you can chose to skip powerups to upgrade the one of your choice! Red is standard gun, Blue is laser stream and Green is Homing gun. Where this game really shines is in the gameplay. You take off, right before the bomb someone has set up us explodes. Taking place in 2101 A.D, you play as the pilot of ZiG-01 on your captains final request to destroy CATS and his bases. So as you can probably guess, there isn`t much story to this game, but i`m going to tell you anyway. ![]() Thats right, i`m talking about All Your Base Are Belong To Us. This game started the biggest and one of the first memes ever. You all know this game, whether you think so or not. One of THE best side scrolling shooters i have ever played, i reccomend you or your friends download this game and have a blast! ![]()
